Daniel Moles, 66, was sentenced on Wednesday to life in prison without possibility of parole after a jury convicted him of first-degree murder and attempted homicide. The Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office stated that Moles opened fire on twin brothers Randy Jenereaux, 31, and Andy Jenereaux on November 13, 2021, inside Woodpeckers Grub and Pub in Upper Burrell, Pennsylvania.
The brothers were waiting to pick up their father, who worked as a cook at the bar. According to the district attorney, Moles fired two rounds from across the bar toward both brothers. One bullet struck Randy Jenereaux's beer glass before hitting his hand and wrist and lodging in his chest. Andy Jenereaux was not injured.
The twins reached their car, and Andy Jenereaux drove his brother to the hospital. Randy Jenereaux died in the car during transport. Moles and the Jenereaux brothers did not know each other, and no evidence showed any altercation between them before the shooting.
Moles also received 20 to 40 years in prison for the attempted homicide of Andy Jenereaux. Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli noted that the sentencing date was the twins' 36th birthday.
