A federal court in Minnesota granted a motion to enforce a court-ordered release after Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained a Guatemalan citizen approximately one minute after ordering his release. The court found that the man was never actually released from custody because ICE officers removed him through a non-public exit and detained him before he left the facility. The court warned ICE that it cannot "paper over their procedural failures" by issuing a warrant late and attempting to re-arrest someone who the court had ordered released.
