The Golden State Valkyries won the WNBA championship in their second season, defeating the Atlanta Dream 68-63 in Game 7 of the Finals on Saturday night at Chase Center.

Gabby Williams scored 30 points, including the team's final 11 points of the third quarter. She joined Penny Taylor as the only players in WNBA history to score 30 or more points in a winner-take-all Finals game. Williams made a clutch 3-pointer with the game tied at 57, then converted two free throws with 1:40 remaining.

Jordin Canada added 18 points for the Valkyries. Kiah Stokes pulled down 13 rebounds and blocked two shots. For Atlanta, Allisha Gray scored 16 points and Angel Reese had 12 rebounds and 8 points.

Coach Natalie Nakase changed the starting lineup before Game 4, inserting Kaila Charles and Tiffany Hayes. Hayes, 37, came out of retirement two years ago after spending 10 seasons with the Dream and scored 11 points in Game 7.

Veronica Burton, who was cut by Dallas two years ago, converted two free throws with 5.1 seconds remaining after the teams forced a jump ball.

Valkyries owner Joe Lacob had guaranteed a championship within five years when the franchise was granted as an expansion team three years ago. The team reached the playoffs in its inaugural year in 2025 before winning the title in Year 2.
