The Law School Admission Council will eliminate the unscored experimental section of the LSAT starting in August 2027. Beginning with the first administration of the 2027-2028 testing cycle, unscored test questions will no longer appear in a standalone section. Instead, the council will embed these questions within each of the three scored sections, a practice known as "embedded pretesting." The experimental section will continue to exist but will be distributed across scored sections rather than appearing as a separate, identifiable portion of the exam.
